Scale up!

In this card-based battler, you are a knight climbing a tower wall, only to be assailed by ridiculous foes on your journey to the top. To overcome your enemies, you must play cards to level up your stats. Get a height advantage over your enemies, and you'll deal more damage. But if they have an advantage over you, they'll deal more damage instead!

Controls

Click on cards to select them, then click on "Play" to play the cards and increase your stats, or click "Redraw" to reshuffle those cards for new ones.

To choose one of the shopkeeper's relics, simply click on it. To discard a relic, select the relic in your inventory that you want to discard, then click "Discard Relic".

Known Bugs

  • If you have a full inventory and the Skip button is disabled, make sure to unclick any relics offered by the shopkeeper, then re-click the relic to add it to your inventory.
  • The sky background doesn't show up on mobile

Game Secrets

This section contains some behind-the-scenes info about the game. Scroll away if you don't want to be spoiled!

Drink Cards

  • The drink cards takes the base value of a discarded card and stores that value as a boost for any cards of the same color that you play. This can stack up to a maximum boost of +5 per card.
    • For example, if you have the Green Drink card, and you discard a green card with a value of 2, any green cards you play will be boosted by +2.
    • If you have the Blue Drink card, and you discard a blue card with a value of 3 and another with a value of 1, any blue cards you play will be boosted by +4.
    • If you have the Red Drink card, and you discard a red card with a value of 4 and another with a value of 2, any red cards you play will be boosted by +5.

Enemy Classes

  • Vultures are well-rounded in stats and attack randomly.
  • Spell Books are glass cannons and will prioritize increasing height to land deadly advantage-boosted attacks.
  • Satellites have very high stats and will always attack, never increasing their height.
  • There are four tiers of enemies. The enemy tier that spawns is determined by the player's altitude. Enemy stats scale based on how many enemies you've defeated within a tier.
    • Tier 1 (<300 ft.): Mini Vulture, Psychotic Spell Book, Rogue Satellite
    • Tier 2 (300-650ft.): Stupid Vulture, Grim Grimoire, Renegade Satellite
    • Tier 3 (650-1,000ft.): Mega Vulture, Ludicrous Lexicon, Rebellious Satellite
    • Tier 4 (1,000ft.+): Hyper Vulture, Forbidden Tome, Usurper Satellite

This game is awesome. I love the vibe. Got to 830ft. I know I can do better. Also, love the death screen and music.

Aw man. Very cool game. I made it to t4. It gets a bit too repetitive. I think the progression could be a bit faster. But its really fun in the beggining.

I like this game!

Armor does something like a flat reduction though. An enemy with 1x advantage can do 1 damage, but the same enemy with 3x advantage will do 1000hp. RIP my armor stack :'

pretty fun! made it to tier 4 then died on the first enemy there, may explore more. the drink system is very interesting to play around. i also love the art of the knight hanging off the wall with cards

I had a great time playing this game!

Nice tutorial, clear and easy to understand how to play. I reached 859 ft. in my run and will probably try to reach the Tier 4 enemies tomorrow, the lexicon did a big damage to my HP and couldn’t recover from that haha.

I liked the visuals and the music fits with it, the relics are good and I like this system of 4 types of cards. I don’t have complaints or much to say, nothing went wrong while I played and I want to play a bit more. Sometimes the difference was hard to deal with at the start of the Tier 3 because I got nothing to climb up the tower but it added fun to the game or didn’t feel unfair because card games can be like that.

I like the implementation of the theme and it’s funny to see the knight climb up all the time, but I wonder what motivates the knight to climb. And I liked the shopkeeper.

Good game, it was fun. :D

fun game :)
